Division Tricks I

In today's post i will tell you the trick on how to find whether the given is divisible by a certain number or not

Divisibility of 2 :-

To find the whether the given number is divisible by 2 or not we have to check the last digit if the last digit is an even number than that number is divisible by 2.
example 1234 is divisible by 2 because last digit is 4 which is even no

Divisibility of 3 :-

To find the whether the given number is divisible by 3 or not we add the given numbers and check whether the no. is multiple of 3, if it is multiple of 3 than that number is divisible by 3.
example ;- 1234 => 1+2+3+4 = 10 not a multiple of 3 so not divisible by 3
12345 => 1+2+3+4+5 = 15 is multiple of 3 so divisible by 3 (12345 / 3 = 4115)

Divisibility of 4 :-

If last 2 digits of the given number is divisible by 4 (or we can say multiple of 4) than that number is divisible by 4 & if the number has 2 or more 0 at the end than that number is also divisible by 4
example ;- 4500 last 2 digits 0 so divisible by 4 (4500 / 4 = 1125)
1234 last 2 digits 34 not multiple of 4 so not divisible by 4
 123456 is divisible by 4 as last 2 digits 56 (4*14) is multiple of 4 (123456 / 4 = 30864)

Divisibility of 5 :-

If the last digit of given number ends with either 5 or 0 than that no. is divisible is 5
example :- 1234 not divisible by 5 as last number is 4
12345 is divisible is 5 as last number is 5 (12345 / 5 = 2469)

Multiplication trick for number 5

In today's post i will show a trick with which you can multiply any 2 digit, 3 digit or any other digit number with 5 and get answer in just 2-3 seconds.

The trick to multiply any number with 5 is simple, the number which is to multiplied by 5 divide that number by 2 (take the half of it) and add 0 in the end and you will get your answer
-> any number * 5 = ?
-> any number * (10/2) = ?
-> divide the number by 2 (as from the above step) * 10 , 

First we will see with a 2 digit number, suppose 46 is the number to be multiplied with 5
-> 46 * 5 = ?
-> 46*10/2 = ?
->23*10 = 230,

lets try with 3 digit number
->432 * 10 = ?
->half of 432 (or 432 / 2) will be = 216
-> 216 * 10 =2160

lets try with 4 digit number
->1257 * 10 = ?
->half of 1257 = 628.5
->628.5 * 10 = 6285

The trick is simple you can do it in your head without pen and paper, when you know the basic division and multiplication rules like
1) multiplication of any number with 10 is just add 0 in the end to that number
2)multiplication of any fraction number with 10 is just move the fraction to next digit like example in 4 digit number

Trick for multiplication of 11 with any number

In today's post i will tell you the trick to Multiply any 2 digit number with 11 and get answer in just a second.

Trick is simple and easy to remember take any 2 digit number, lets take 23 for example
23 * 11 = ?
->the first digit of our answer will be the first number itself in our case its 2 as we are multiplying with 23 so the answer will be =>2---
->the last digit of the answer will be the last number itself in our case 3 (same reason as above) =>--3
->sum of first and last digit will give us our middle digit 2+3 (5) =>-5-
23 * 11 = 25

lets try for 57 * 11
-> first number = 5--
->last number = --7
->middle numbers 5+7 = 12, carry 1 to its previous number which is 5 so (5+1=6),now our first number is 6
the answer for 57 * 11 = 627

similarly  68 * 11 = 6 (14) 8 (carry 1 to its previous number)
answer will be => 748

Note :- This trick will only work for the multiplication of 11 only
try for some other combination like 47 * 11, 30 * 11 for your better practice

Local value and Face value of given number

Today i will tell you how to solve the problem based on the local value and the face value.

First let's discuss what is local value and face value,

In maths LOCAL VALUE means the position the number is placed hence it is also called as PLACE VALUE

- for example what is the place value of 5 in the given number 13579
as number 5 is in the place of 100, the place / local value of 5 will be 500

-place value of 3 in 13579 ?
as the no. 3 is in thousands place , place / local value will be 3000

FACE VALUE of a digit in a number is the value of the digit itself.

- for example the face value of 5 in 13579 is 5 (digit itself)
- face value of 3 in 13579 is 3 (digit itself)

In competitive exams questions will be asked as
1) What is the face value and the place value of 8 in 24583400
- place / local value of 8 is 80000
- face value of 8 is 8

2) what is the difference between the local value and the face value of 2 in 167234678 ?
- place / local value of 2 is 200000
- face value of 2 is 2
- difference is =>200000 - 2
                       =>199998

3) what is the difference between the local value and the face value of 7 from right in 167234678 ?
- number 7 is at places in the given number place / local value as 7000000 and 70
- face value is 7
- answer will be either 6999993 or 63
(select from the given options)

Easy Maths Trick for Calculation

Maths Trick for multiplication of 2 numbers can be done in just 2 seconds if you know a simple maths trick, and I am here to tell you about that trick.


The trick is simple and easy we have 2  two digits number's that are to multiplied
- 64*66
what we have to do is take the first digit of the number of and multiplied the number with its next number, it will give us the first half of our answer
- 6*7 = 42
Next part of the multiplied the last digit of both the numbers, and it will us the second half of our answer
-4*6=24
64*66=4224

let try with another example
73*77
- multiply 7 with next number 7*8=56
-multiply last digits 3*7=21
the answer is 5621

Conditions to apply this trick 
There trick can only be applied when the 2 conditions conditions are met.
1) First digit of both the numbers should be same eg:-64*66 (first number '6'), 73*77 (first number '7)
2) Last digit number on adding should give result of 10 eg;- 64*66(last numbers '4+6=10'), 73*77 (last numbers '3+7=10')
