Local value and Face value of given number

Today i will tell you how to solve the problem based on the local value and the face value.

First let's discuss what is local value and face value,

In maths LOCAL VALUE means the position the number is placed hence it is also called as PLACE VALUE

- for example what is the place value of 5 in the given number 13579
as number 5 is in the place of 100, the place / local value of 5 will be 500

-place value of 3 in 13579 ?
as the no. 3 is in thousands place , place / local value will be 3000

FACE VALUE of a digit in a number is the value of the digit itself.

- for example the face value of 5 in 13579 is 5 (digit itself)
- face value of 3 in 13579 is 3 (digit itself)

In competitive exams questions will be asked as
1) What is the face value and the place value of 8 in 24583400
- place / local value of 8 is 80000
- face value of 8 is 8

2) what is the difference between the local value and the face value of 2 in 167234678 ?
- place / local value of 2 is 200000
- face value of 2 is 2
- difference is =>200000 - 2
                       =>199998

3) what is the difference between the local value and the face value of 7 from right in 167234678 ?
- number 7 is at places in the given number place / local value as 7000000 and 70
- face value is 7
- answer will be either 6999993 or 63
